Discover the standout designs and creative showcases that defined FOCUS 26 during the London Design Festival at Chelsea Harbour.

At the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour, inspiration is the heartbeat of FOCUS 26, according to Claire German, CEO. This year's event coincides with the London Design Festival, transforming the area into a vibrant hub of creativity, featuring over 700 brands across 140 showrooms. It’s an impressive exhibition of artistry and innovation that demands attention.
While the festival spans the city, the Chelsea Harbour venue is where you’ll find a concentration of unique designs and breathtaking showcases. Visitors can expect to get lost in a menagerie of aesthetic marvels that push boundaries and offer new perspectives on design.
1. Tom Dixon's Sculptural Headboard at Vispring
My exploration began at Vispring, where the brand is celebrating 125 years of crafting luxury beds. Their latest collaboration features a sculptural headboard designed by British icon Tom Dixon. The "Rainbow" bed mesmerizes with its graceful, sweeping form, artfully designed to be the centerpiece of any room. Initially unveiled at Milan Design Week, it’s now prominently displayed to draw design enthusiasts.
2. Whimsical Practicality at Armac Martin
Next, I found myself at Armac Martin, a brand renowned for its exquisite hardware. Their new collections feature soft, flowing designs, notably the Sketch collection, developed with industrial designer Jake Soloman, which showcases a minimalist aesthetic with a bronzed finish. The Whimsical collection was particularly endearing, highlighting ballet slipper handles and tutu pulls, suitable for both children's rooms and playful adult spaces. Armac Martin is also set to expand into door hardware and electrical fittings, promising an extensive range for future developments.
3. Intricate Embroidery at Zimmer and Rohde
Whimsy took a more refined turn at Zimmer and Rohde. The Celestia trim dazzled with its intricate embroidery, featuring celestial motifs that brought a sparkle to the lush fabrics. The artisans' craftsmanship was evident in the silks adorned with hand-painted designs and delicate embroidery, which captured the essence of global artistry.
4. Artistic Excellence at Jaipur Rugs
Another highlight was Jaipur Rugs. Walking into their showroom, where a motorcycle clad in pink greets visitors, was an instant charm. Their Princess Pea collection, comprising four rugs dedicated to different phases of the menstrual cycle, was particularly moving, reflecting beauty in the female experience through meticulous craftsmanship.
5. The New Blueprint for Modern Luxury at Collection Seven and Collection Noir
The newly inaugurated Collection Noir and Collection Seven showroom offered a fresh take on luxury design. This space, curated by two female founders, features a homely feel that diverges from the antiseptic aesthetics of many showrooms. The Calacatta Monet stone, with its alluring green veins, stood out as an elegant choice for modern settings.
6. A Change of Atmosphere at Studio HÁM's General Store
Studio HÁM's General Store pop-up was a standout exhibit, eschewing the typical showroom design for a nostalgic American general store aesthetic. Not only was I enamored with their new wicker vanity unit, but the addition of a coffee bar brought a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made it easy to linger.
7. Lights to Love at Arteriors
In the vibrant Arteriors showroom, I was enthralled by their extensive lighting options. With the textured glass trend on display, from wall sconces to breathtaking chandeliers, they presented countless interpretations of a classic style. Particularly noteworthy was the Eclipse Accent Light, which has also appeared on Disney's All's Fair series, underscoring its appeal.
FOCUS 26 proved to be a prime opportunity for industry insiders to identify emerging interior design trends. Based on what I witnessed, the coming year is set to be filled with creative explorations and new ideas that redefine our understanding of luxury and functionality in design.
